Christmas Ale Apple Crisp

Ingredients

- 1 qt. apples, any variety
- 12 oz. Christmas Ale
- 1 1/4 C. flour
- 1 1/4 C. rolled oats
- 1 C. brown sugar, short
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 3/4 C butter

Method

Peel, core, and slice apples. Put into a bowl and pour Christmas Ale over apples (optional: reserve some Christmas Ale for baking). Cover bowl and put in fridge for 2-3 hours.

Once apples are ready, preheat oven to 350F. In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients and hand stir. Cut butter and blend into mixture until crumbly.

Pour half of crumbly mixture into a 9x9 inch baking dish. Remove apples from beer and place on top of mixture in baking dish. If desired, pour additional Christmas Ale over top. Evenly pour remaining mixture over apples.

Bake at 350F for 40-45 minutes. Apples will be tender and oats golden. Serve and enjoy.
